Build & Deliver Effective Presentations Seminar
One Friday ONLY!
Friday, December 12, 2014, 9 AM – 4 PM (1-hour lunch break. Lunch included!)
Location: Infinera Executive Briefing Center (140 Caspian Court, Sunnyvale, CA 94089)
This Full Day (6-hour) intensive seminar will cover presentation development and delivery strategies and culminate in a final presentation at the end of the seminar. The class will follow a workshop format with instruction and practice activities. Participants will work on improving their own presentations during the class as they receive instruction on the following topics:
- Evaluating presentations using the FIPP™ Presentation Evaluation Criteria
- Planning a presentation around the audience and identifying the key message
- Developing an introduction and conclusion
- Organizing presentation content effectively
- Designing effective presentation slides and visuals
- Utilizing keyword outlines
- Delivering an effective presentation using poise, pitch, pace, and projection
- Controlling nerves
- Answering audience questions
Participants will deliver their final, revised presentations at the end of the seminar. Final presentations will be video recorded. Participants will be evaluated both by the instructor and by their peers. The instructor will send presentation video recordings to the participants after the seminar.
Please bring a presentation topic that you would like to develop into a presentation and a laptop or tablet that you can connect to a projector.
Bring your questions! We will dedicate a portion of every hour to answering your specific and individual questions. The seminar will be taught by two instructors, so one instructor will always be available to address your individual questions.

About the Instructors:

She regularly gives presentations and leads workshops for English teaching professionals at TESOL conferences in California and around the country. Blythe is the author of the book, The Accent Diet: A Daily Program for Improving Your American English Pronunciation.

A: Due to a busy travel and enterprise training schedule, we are only able to offer public seminars on a limited basis. Therefore, we cannot guarantee when or if this course will be offered again. You can view all of our upcoming seminars here.
Q: If I have to cancel at the last minute, can I still get a copy of the materials?

Q: Is parking available?
A: Yes! There is plenty of free parking available.
Q: What time shoud I arrive?
A: Since this is a secure building, you will need to sign in when you arrive. This can take a few minutes, so we recommend arriving ten minutes early to make sure you do not miss any of the seminar.
Cancellation Policy: Registration may be canceled, with no charge, until 11:59 PM on December 5, 2014. Cancellations after this date will be charged the full tuition. We do not offer refunds or exchanges. Ovient reserves the right to cancel the class at anytime due to low enrollment or extenuating circumstances. If we need to cancel the class, you will be offered a full refund.
